I’m Carl Patten, a Business Analyst with 15 years of experience across the UK and Australia. My background in retail systems, requirements engineering and process analysis informs the data and technology work I do today.
This portfolio shows the thinking behind the work: the business problem, the decisions made and the evidence used to validate the outcome. It brings together project showcases, case studies, a delivery framework and notes on the tools I use along the way.

Each showcase explains the problem, approach, implementation and outcome, with selected artefacts provided as evidence of the work.
Delivery Frameworks
Alongside the showcase projects, I develop structured delivery frameworks that demonstrate how analysis, design, implementation, validation and governance can be connected across an end-to-end delivery lifecycle.
Learning & Build Notes
The Learning & Build Notes section introduces how I use GitHub, Markdown, an Excel project template and Python to create, organise and maintain portfolio material. I’ll add more specific examples as the projects develop.
Continuous Professional Development
This portfolio forms part of my ongoing Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and provides a structured way to maintain, extend and evidence my professional capability across Business Analysis, Data Analytics and related delivery disciplines.
The projects and reusable frameworks allow me to explore practical approaches, test and refine methods, and maintain hands-on familiarity with the technologies and practices that support modern business change.
The focus is on continuous improvement of professional practice and applying established experience in realistic delivery contexts.
